Truck drivers in “skirts”

December 19th, 2007 by AP (Lisboa, Portugal) · 1 Comment

There are no restrictions or laws blocking women’s access to any profession in Portugal. But if there are jobs mainly done by women – nurses, kindergarten teachers – others didn’t seem very feminine. But the exceptions are becoming less unusual, as showed a recent article published in my newspaper, called “women who drive us”.
Female pilots, bus and truck drivers, metropolitan and tram conductors, pizza delivers, sailors – in common they have the passion for transports. For some it was a dream come true, for others the continuation of a family business and to others just a good career opportunity! Here is the link for the photo gallery we did with some of these new heroines.
