2008 International Book Fair Inauguration

This year Egypt is celebrating the 40th International Book Fair inauguration (23rd January till 4th February 2008). Usually held in Madinet Nasr, the International Book Fair has been organized since it’s start in 1969 by the General Egyptian Book Organization chaired by Dr. Nasser El Ansary since 2005. The Fair is considered to be one of the biggest cultural events in the Middle East if not in the world. With it diversity of books, lectures, participation of international displayers from different countries and even food courts, the Book Fair attracted 2 million visitors last year, having “Italy” as guest of Honor.
