In South Africa shock and repugnance has sparked a video of white university students feeding black campus cleaners a soup, in which they had first urinated.
The video shows one student urinating into a container of soup, placed on a toilet seat at the University of the Free State, situated in a conservative farming region.“This is the final ingredient” he said, before heating the soup in the microwave oven and giving it to the elderly cleaners. The employees in the campus were also taken to a bar where they were forced to drink large quantities of alcohol.
The leaked video, which was filmed last year, has led black and white students to the streets, demonstrating against the “White arrogancy”, as one placard said. The Young Communist League of South Africa said the video showed that some students at the university still “regard our people as inferior human beings equivalent to pigs”.
The University of Free State condemned the inhuman behaviour and has instructed its attorneys to file criminal charges against the students. After the dreary incident, student organisations are preparing antiracist demonstrations across the country which is scarred by decades of apartheid.

I didn’t even dare to take a look at the video…These people should be in jail, serving the community and understanding what real life is about.
