Inventory of Living, from Beirut

April 6th, 2008 by LM (Beirut, Lebanon) · No Comments

It’s been a while since I last posted something that I actually wrote on this blog… I’ve been working so much, never thought someone could be so busy… Mainly, I now have two jobs, my regular L’Orient-Le Jour editor and political analyst job and a researcher job for a due diligence company called MideastRisk, owned by a very good friend of mine, Nadim.

My day used to start at 11 am, but now I have to get up at 9 to start working on my researches before it’s time to go to work (around 4-5 pm). I usually get out from the office around 1 - 2 am, generally exhasuted.

As a result, I started taking cabs to go to work since Im too tired to drive … My car is now sleeping in the garage under a very important layer of dust. If anyone can send me someone to wash it, I would be glad :D

My cat is now happy cause he loves it when I work for ages on my laptop. For him, it means very long hours sleepng on my lap, while I’m deseperately finding a way to see what I’m writing on my screen

On my bathroom’s window, I have two new eggs with a new “tourterelle” patiently waiting for birth time. This window seems to be the good address of the neighborhood, so they pass it on!!

It’s been good weather, sometimes even too hot for the season, so here is a pic

What else? Oh, my fiance :) of course. We do see each other, but always in a rush. Yesterday I was so tired that after going to the zoo (sorry no pics, it’s not a real zoo, its like a shelter for abandoned animals, really lovely, with baby lions, leopard and chimpanzees), I went for a nap around 7 pm and woke up at… 11 am this morning :D

Beirut is really fine, but war rumors are emerging again. They are saying that Israel will attack again. People are so scared in the South (next to the israeli border) that they are leaving their homes and renting houses in safer neighborhoods, like Beirut and the mountains.

But for now, I’m enjoying my Sunday afternoon, hope you are too
Cheers :D
