International Forum for women in Baku !

June 9th, 2008 by HB (Rabat, Maroc) · 2 Comments

ABOUT THE FORUM

Throughout history, women have played a significant and positive role in communicating with one another across cultural divides, but in today’s increasingly interconnected but troubled world, they need to expand that role to ensure that their voices are heard in all arenas and on all critical issues of international life. To help ensure that happens, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Lady of Azerbaijan and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, is launching a new effort.

As a first step, she, with the support of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), both of which she serves as a Goodwill Ambassador, is convening the first International Forum in Baku to examine the state of this dialogue now and to consider how to go forward.
