Portuguese contemporary and “sort of kitsch” new fado

September 15th, 2008 by SR (Coimbra, Portugal) · 2 Comments

This group is called Deolinda, which is a very typical, yet old-fashioned, female name in Portugal. The group tried to recreate a modern and urban (suburban, actually) concept of the traditional Portuguese song fado, with an inch of humor. Although you probably won’t understand what the singer is saying, I hope you can capture the freshness and “kitschness” of the song.
