When NewsLab meets Demotix…

It all started when Cherise left a comment on one of my posts on NewsLab. We got in touch and she told me that Demotix’s CEO, Turi Munthe was actually in Beirut for a few hours and that he would love to meet me to talk about NewsLab and ways of collaborating together. After checking that Demotix really existed (I really thought it was a spam comment at first… sorry Turi) I said to myself WOW these guys think just like us at NewsLab (except they are more info oriented, unlike us). Really girls you should check this site, it’s great because it is all about citizen journalism, you can make your own info and talk about it to the whole world without passing by the filters of the big agencies (just what I said in my Bucarest video presentation… )

We met at the very trendy Albergo Hotel in Beirut while I was in the middle of my packing sessions ( since I moved to Paris since) and we agreed on a lot of things, including exchanging our logos on our websites, and he really would love it if you girls could check out the Demotix website and maybe even register.

I forgot to mention that Turi has worked with the biggest newspapers in the UK and the US and that he is a fellow in the very prestigious Royal United Services Institute for defence and strategy
